Eligibility Information
Eligible children must be four years old by August 31st of the school year for which they apply. The child and family must reside in Union County. Family income must be 75% of the state median income shown on this table: 2019-2020 NC Pre-K Eligibility.
If a family income is over 75% of the state median income, a child may be eligible if one of these factors applies: the child has limited English proficiency, identified disability, chronic health condition, or identified developmental or educational need. Children with a parent who is active duty military are eligible regardless of income (military documentation is required with application). For any exceptions, copies of documentation must be provided with the child’s application.
