Julie Miles

Director of Youth Ministries

Julie Miles serves as Central's Director of Youth Ministries, where she is passionate about helping young people
discover their full potential as they grow in their faith. She is dedicated to building a strong youth ministry team,
equipping parents, and fostering connections within the larger faith community.

A Union County native, Julie graduated from Wingate University with a B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Psychology.
Her deep-rooted love for church life began early, inspired by her mother, who served as a Christian Educator at both Julie’s
childhood church and Central. Through her own experiences in youth group, she came to understand the lasting impact of
a faith-centered community, sparking her desire to give back. Whether serving as a camp counselor, leading youth retreats,
or mentoring students on Sunday nights, she has always found joy in walking alongside young people in their faith journey.

Julie feels a strong calling to lead the youth ministry at Central, believing that middle and high school students are where
her heart truly belongs. Whether she’s organizing a scavenger hunt, leading a team-building challenge, sharing in worship,
or snapping a silly photo, she’s always fully engaged with the youth.

Julie sees Central as a church with a strong foundation ready for new growth and potential. She believes that the youth
are the gateway for building a stronger community of faith. In Julie's eyes, the youth are the future of the church;
and therefore, she strongly encourages youth of all ages to become leaders in the church.

In addition to her work with the youth, Julie can be seen helping in all aspects of the church. From event setup
to singing in the praise team, Julie is very involved at Central. She also leads the bi-annual Community Consignment sale, the Community-Wide Trunk or Treat event, and many other events. Julie also serves at the conference level as an adult advisor
on the Western North Carolina Conference's Conference Council on Youth Ministries, and works extensively
to plan the yearly IgniteUs youth retreat.

Family is an essential part of Julie’s life, and that includes her beloved dogs, Charlotte and Bella—who have quickly become
the unofficial mascots of the youth group! She looks forward to continuing to nurture and grow a vibrant,
Christ-centered community for the youth of Central.
